River of Song: 6-Week Workshop for Experienced Songwriters Wednesdays, Jan 21 - Feb 25 • Sisters Art Works • 6:30 - 8 pm
Are you an experienced songwriter looking to deepen your songwriting practice in community? In this interactive workshop, we will dive into generative writing exercises, learn from songs that light us up, listen deeply and give/receive feedback, and dig in to what makes a song work. How do songs make us feel? How can we build our songs so they deliver a story with maximum impact?
We will play with form, chord progressions and substitutions, and look for ways to incorporate dynamics and variation into our songs. We'll be looking at your existing songs/ideas as well as creating new ones, and you can count on weekly writing prompts to spark new ideas!
